The world of the PsyChangeling continues to grow and evolve with each installment, I've instantly become addicted to these amazing characters and the setting the author has surrounded them in! I'm also surprised by how much I end up liking the Psy by the end of their stories because I'm usually more interested in the Changelings.
Caressed By Ice is darker then the previous two books in the series. Brenna is fighting a darkness within her caused by an atrocity set on her by a madman. But she is determined to come out ahead and not let that monster ruin her life. She is a strong leading lady and that, along with her tenacity towards Judd, is admirable. She never gave up on him, no matter how many road blocks he put in her way and I loved her wittiness and charm. Judd is a man on the edge. He feels a fierce pull towards Brenna, but he sees how other Changeling mates treat each other and despairs that he will never be able to give Brenna what she needs. But he tries, oh does he try. I was amazed how such a strong, intense character could turn so sweet. Judd has never experienced anything sexual in nature, but that doesn't mean he hasn't researched it...and when he puts that knowledge into action he doesn't just shake the bed, he shakes the whole room! Caressed By Ice is a roller coaster ride of passion, conspiracy, action and suspense.
I adore the fact that just because previous characters from the series might have had their HEA doesn't mean that is the last we see of them. I am learning (now that I am a few books ahead) that every little character appearance is integral to the overall story arc and not to take a single one for granted because you WILL see them again. Faith, Sasha, Lucas and Vaughn each play an essential role in Caressed By Ice, and Hawke....oh Hawke (the SnowDancer Alpha), how I cannot wait for your story. I have a feeling that it is going to be one wild ride!
The PsyChangeling series is incomparable to any other shifter novel you will ever read, and a must for paranormal romance and urban fantasy (romance) lovers out there! I'm really interested in the Ghost and another Arrow now, I can't wait until I get to their books.
