Mark of the Sylph

Mark of the Sylph - Rosalie Lario Rosalie Lario continues the story of her four half demon brothers from Infernum with Mark of the Sylph, giving readers a fun, exciting and sexy ride into the world of others with cocky second eldest brother Taeg.

Feeling guilty for letting down his eldest brother Keegan and new sister-in-law Bree, who is now expecting, Taeg is on a mission to find a mythical sword that may be the only weapon strong enough to destroy the Book of the Dead and save Bree and her unborn child’s life. While doing research on the artifact he notices that there’s something strange about the sexy, but cold, librarian. When he realizes that she can see through glamour her knows she is his only hope at finding the hidden sword and will do anything to use her ability, even if it means lying and kidnapping.
After Maya Flores witnessed her family being slaughtered by demons she believes they’re all evil hell spawn and doesn’t hesitate to destroy them. When Taeg approaches her she automatically goes on the defensive, seeing through his glamour into his demon eyes, but as she’s forced to spend time with him she begins to realize that not all demons are evil. But can she put aside the guilt over her family’s death to love one of them?

Although this is the second in a series, there is just enough back-story to fill in new readers, though I do recommend reading the first book as well since it was pure awesomesauce!

Full of danger and desire Mark of the Sylph was just as stellar as the first novel in this series, Blood of the Demon. Lario has built a complex, interesting world without weighing it down with too much detail. Her writing style flows from the pages and her characters come to life. I absolutely love each of the four brother’s this series follows and for the life of me cannot pick a favorite, which is rare in my case, they’re all sexy and intriguing with endearing qualities each their own.

I loved Taeg’s cockiness at the beginning of the story and how baffled he was by Maya’s seemingly un-interest. He really stepped up in this novel showing courage and honor, sacrificing the most important things to him for love. I enjoyed watching him grow throughout the story along with Maya. There was also a lot a humor sprinkled in throughout the dialogue that was entertaining, and I crack up at the shirts these guys wear as well!

Super hot love scenes, some mystery & suspense, action, definite tension all around and sexy half demons and kick ass heroines; a must read for any paranormal romance fan! I cannot wait for the next book in this series coming in December and featuring Ronin!
